Codarra Advanced Systems is an engineering company specialising in software, mechanical and communications engineering, training and project management. The company provides professional services to customers in the public and private sectors, and offers graduates and experienced engineers the opportunity to work on research and development, and other projects within a diverse range of engineering fields.

Warren Williams, Codarra’s co-founder, started the business in 1990. The company has since established offices in Sydney and Melbourne, with its head office located in Queanbeyan.

Warren says they chose to base Codarra in Queanbeyan because it was a great location, with lots of space, at the right price. He says that proximity to their customer base, and other businesses involved in the industry, is ideal. “We really enjoy working here. We’ve fitted into the community, and find that just about everything we need from a business perspective is very close by.”

Codarra employs 35 staff members who work in the Queanbeyan office or onsite at clients’ premises. Warren says that they try to employ people in the local area as often as possible, and provide work experience for high school and university students. They are also passionate about encouraging children to get involved in technology, and recently ran a competition program that involved schools right across NSW.

Having been in Queanbeyan for 12 years now, Warren says they have no plans to move. “Queanbeyan is a great place to work and we’re very happy here. Plus there’s free parking which everyone loves, so it’s perfect!”
